Integra LifeSciences has appointed Topaz Kirlew as Corporate Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer, making permanent a role she had held on an interim basis for several months. She will lead the company’s global regulatory affairs organization, overseeing strategy, compliance, submissions, and transformation initiatives. During her interim tenure, Kirlew managed active submissions, led risk mitigation efforts, and oversaw regulatory compliance across the organization.
Kirlew joined Integra in 2021 and has helped build the medical technology company’s regulatory capabilities. Chairman and CEO Stuart Essig said she brings “deep regulatory experience, sound judgment, and a practical approach,” adding that she had earned the confidence of the leadership team as Integra works to strengthen quality, compliance, and execution.
Her career spans more than 35 years across regulatory affairs, quality, operations, and clinical functions. Before joining Integra, she held roles at Danaher, Apyx Medical, Bio-Tissue, and the University of Miami’s Diabetes Research Institute. Kirlew began her career as a clinical laboratory scientist at the National Institutes of Health, Georgetown University Hospital, and the University of Maryland Medical Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science from Florida International University and holds a master’s degree and doctorate in business administration from Nova Southeastern University.
