Eric Prengel has been named Chief Financial Officer at PagerDuty, stepping into the role ahead of Howard Wilson's retirement at the end of the second fiscal quarter of 2027. In his new capacity, Prengel will lead the global finance and business operations division, overseeing corporate strategy, accounting, investor relations, and corporate development.
The incoming executive brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the technology, investment banking, and management consulting sectors. Prengel previously held positions at Elastic, JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, Thomas Weisel Partners, and Stern Stewart & Co. Notably, Prengel's professional history includes assisting PagerDuty during its initial public offering process.
PagerDuty CEO John DiLullo stated, "Eric's foundational background leading public company financial teams together with his distinguished accomplishments as an investment banker, give him a unique strategic focus and a deep understanding of how to drive value for customers and shareholders." The leadership change comes as PagerDuty attempts to scale its business and manage its footprint of 36,000 global customers.
Prengel noted the operational timing of his arrival, citing current commercial momentum behind the company's artificial intelligence products. Prengel stated, "Joining PagerDuty at this pivotal moment is truly the opportunity of a lifetime." He will work alongside DiLullo and the executive management team to manage the company's profitable growth targets and shareholder value metrics.
Prengel's mandate covers both high-level investor relations and day-to-day corporate strategy as the company maintains its operations management services.
