Veteran security leader Justin Henkel has left OneTrust to become Chief Information Security Officer at SolarWinds. Bringing a strong track record from his time as OneTrust's Deputy CISO and Head of the CISO Center of Excellence, Henkel will now champion SolarWinds’ risk management and security operational strategies.
The incoming executive brings more than two decades of security experience spanning both the private sector and military service. Henkel served as an intelligence officer in the United States Air Force from 2001 to 2025. His background also includes cybersecurity leadership roles focused on threat intelligence at CME Group and iSIGHT Partners.
SolarWinds President and CEO Sudhakar Ramakrishna stated, "Justin's breadth of experience across government and industry makes him exceptionally well positioned to strengthen our resilience posture as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in AI-driven IT." The corporate leadership shift comes as the company manages its security infrastructure against complex global threat actors.
Henkel's operational expertise covers the intelligence community, financial services, cyber threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and third-party risk. Henkel stated, "I see a company that has shown both singular resilience and genuine innovation, and I believe together we'll set a new standard for operational resilience that helps our customers confidently accelerate in the age of AI."
In his new role, he is responsible for the technical protections and security threat management across the company's observability and IT management product portfolios.
