Keith Lee is a Co-Chief Investment Officer — Global Growth Equity, Senior Vice President, and Senior Portfolio Manager for American Century Investments. Launched in 1958, the investment firm has grown to become a $215 billion global asset manager with more than 1,400 employees.

Lee, who is based in the company's Mountain View, California office, has more than 20 years of experience at American Century. He joined the company in 1998, working as an analyst for Global Growth and International Growth strategies. He left the company briefly, joining Galleon Management in 2000 as a telecommunications equipment analyst. He returned to American Century in 2001.

Lee assumed his current role in September 2021. At the time, Victor Zhang, Chief Investment Officer for American Century, applauded Lee's track record for success in the investment industry, saying, “During Keith's 22-year tenure with American Century, he has demonstrated impactful leadership, strict adherence to defined investment processes, a thorough understanding of our investment culture and an unwavering commitment to helping clients achieve success. This promotion is a reflection of his substantial contributions and our belief in his readiness to assume this role.”

As Co-CIO now, Lee oversees the investment management function. This includes a wide range of areas for the U.S. large- and mid-cap teams within the Global Growth discipline at American Century – such as investment culture, process oversight, resource allocation, and talent development. To date, the group is comprised of 23 investment professionals who manage more than $59 billion. On top of that, Lee also maintains his portfolio management responsibilities, while also providing fundamental equity research and analysis for Health Care Impact Equity strategies.

Prior to his current position, he served as a senior investment analyst on the U.S. Large Cap Quality Growth team. Overall, he has worked in the investment industry since 1996. Before joining the company in 1998, he was a securities analyst for Oppenheimer Funds in New York.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from Columbia University. Notably, he is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.
