SAP Fioneer has named Supratim Ghose CEO of Banking for EMEA and North America, placing a former Citi transformation executive over two of its key banking regions. Ghose joins after five years at Citibank, where he most recently served as global head of core banking transformation. His appointment comes as SAP Fioneer continues operating under a four-division structure introduced in January 2026, giving its banking, lending, insurance, and finance units full responsibility for their customers, products, and services.

Ghose’s appointment directly addresses the technical demands of legacy banking systems attempting to modernize via the cloud. At Citibank, he served as global head of core banking transformation, where he led the rollout of cloud-native platforms like Pismo and managed infrastructure integrations across AWS and on-premise environments. A representative for SAP Fioneer noted that the company's new structure ensures the division has "full end-to-end responsibility for its customers, products, and services." This mandate gives Ghose oversight of a portfolio that spans digital banking, AI agent services, and core accounting data management.

The move marks the first major executive hire since Chairman Matthias Tomann stepped into the CEO role earlier this year. SAP Fioneer has spent the last five years positioning itself as a bridge between traditional enterprise software and agile fintech capabilities. With Ghose steering the banking business in North America and EMEA, the firm aims to deepen its footprint in regions currently facing intense pressure to automate workflows and reduce data complexity. The leadership expansion suggests a heightened focus on converting transformation consulting into long-term SaaS revenue for its banking solutions segment.
