Kapoor will report directly to AWS CEO Matt Garman and collaborate with Chief Information Security Officer Amy Herzog. In a company-wide email, Garman highlighted the significance of the role, stating, “Outstanding security and operations in the cloud is of vital importance to every single one of our customers,” and added that “providing outstanding external security and observability services has become a more important part of our business.”

Kapoor succeeds Kurt Kufeld, who will transition to a new position within Amazon, while several senior leaders, including Gee Rittenhouse, Nandini Ramani, Georgia Sitaras, and Brad Marshall, will now report to him.
