Before the sun rises over Washington, D.C., Lydia Stone has already logged hours across time zones, aligning global teams and making sure Chargebee’s financial heart beats smoothly. As Chief Accounting Officer, Stone’s leadership has been pivotal in scaling the company’s finance function as it supports customers in over 227 countries. Since joining in 2021, she’s helped solidify Chargebee’s position as a leading revenue growth platform, used by global brands like Toyota, Calendly, and Pret a Manger. Her team not only supports the company’s internal operations but also uses Chargebee’s product, offering her a rare dual perspective as both user and architect.

Stone’s journey began at Ernst & Young, where she developed a deep understanding of how numbers tell stories, especially during her years working with a publicly listed client. Over time, she moved from structured corporate roles at BAE Systems to early-stage startups like Evolent Health, where she was instrumental in scaling the company from under $1 million in revenue to a successful IPO and over $1 billion in earnings. Along the way, she built finance teams from scratch, negotiated major contracts, and earned a reputation for her ability to humanize numbers. Her time at Blackboard during the pandemic, helping facilitate a $2 billion sale, further cemented her reputation as a transformative finance leader.
