Airwallex has appointed Carolyn Renzin as Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer to oversee its global infrastructure expansion. Based in New York, Renzin joins the executive team at a pivotal moment, as the company projects a 70% increase in compliance expenditure and a 50% growth in its dedicated regulatory team for 2026.

Renzin brings more than 25 years of expertise in regulatory litigation and high-growth compliance. She most recently served as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at FanDuel, navigating the complex regulatory landscape of the online gaming industry. Her background also includes six years at JPMorgan Chase, where she led remediation and regulatory engagement initiatives following the 2008 financial crisis.

According to CEO Jack Zhang, Renzin’s experience in both traditional banking and hyper-growth technology is essential as Airwallex scales its regulated product suite, including the recent launch of Airwallex Yield. Renzin will also oversee the integration of specialized AI agents into the company’s KYC and AML workflows—a "human-in-the-loop" strategy designed to maintain precision as the firm manages its 85+ global licenses.
