RealPage has appointed Zahir Khoja as its first Chief Fintech Officer. This newly established executive role signals the company’s broader push to deepen financial services across its real estate software platform. Khoja will join the Executive Management Committee and report directly to President and CEO Dirk Wakeham, overseeing the company’s fintech strategy and operations. His remit includes payments, financial services, and emerging resident-focused financial offerings, with an emphasis on improving transaction flows, strengthening compliance and risk controls, and making financial interactions more seamless for property operators and residents.
RealPage said the role reflects its effort to expand embedded financial capabilities that can help housing providers improve efficiency, simplify resident transactions, and create additional revenue opportunities across the rental lifecycle. Khoja joins RealPage with more than two decades of experience in payments and financial technology. He previously served as CEO of Wave Financial, which operates within H&R Block, where he led the business toward profitable growth and broadened its platform capabilities. He previously helped expand Afterpay in North America and held senior roles at Mastercard, while also leading the growth of M-Paisa in Afghanistan.
Dirk Wakeham, President and CEO of RealPage, stated, “Financial services are an essential layer of the modern real estate operating platform.” He added, “Zahir brings deep experience building and scaling global fintech platforms,” and said his appointment would help RealPage deliver “secure, seamless financial experiences for operators and residents across our ecosystem.”
