Claus Jepsen believes innovation thrives not in isolation, but through collective momentum—and he’s put that belief into action. As Chief Product and Technology Officer at Unit4, Jepsen is best known for sparking the company’s now-renowned innovation engine: Crazy Lab Days. What started as a modest initiative has grown into a vibrant annual event that empowers employees across departments to develop product ideas, many of which go into production. “People always have ideas, but if they cannot execute them alone, they die,” Jepsen says. His leadership encourages action over perfection and experimentation over hesitation, creating a structure where ideas don’t just survive, they thrive.

Born in Denmark, Jepsen has had a lifelong fascination with technology, beginning at age 14 with a Tandy TRS Model 1 computer. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science and business from Aarhus Business School. Today, he leads product development and technology strategy at Unit4, a global enterprise software company serving service organizations. Jepsen is focused on building intelligent, adaptable ERP systems that prioritize what Unit4 calls the “People Experience,” helping organizations streamline processes so users can focus on what truly matters.

Jepsen’s impact extends beyond product features, it’s in how he reshapes company culture. His efforts to democratize innovation, from Crazy Lab Days to the quarterly Crazy Beats sessions, foster a sense of shared ownership across Unit4. These programs not only produce tangible tools—like Wanda, Unit4’s digital assistant—but also deepen collaboration across teams. Jepsen’s approach shows that when people are invited to shape the future of their work, innovation becomes more than a goal, it becomes a habit.
