Jaime DeLanghe, Vice President of Product at Slack, didn’t arrive at her leadership seat through the traditional tech executive route, but her impact on the company has been nothing short of transformative. Since joining Slack in 2017, she has consistently shaped the platform to better meet the needs of modern workplaces. Now, as she leads product strategy during a pivotal period following the Salesforce acquisition, DeLanghe is working to align Slack’s product-driven approach with Salesforce’s sales-focused model. Her work has guided the integration of AI-powered features rooted in user behavior and data. Graduating with a degree in English from Wesleyan University during the 2008 recession, DeLanghe initially took jobs in coffee shops while exploring career plans. Her breakthrough came at Etsy, where she began in customer support and gained hands-on experience with coding, data analysis, and product workflows. By deeply understanding how the business operated, she identified gaps and convinced her managers to create a new product management role tailored to her skills and curiosity. This proactive approach helped her transition into product management and advance her career. At Etsy, she moved through several senior positions before joining Slack, where her deep understanding of user needs and internal systems shaped her into a product leader known for both empathy and clarity.
