ASML Holding NV, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer, has appointed Marco Pieters as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Pieters, who has more than 25 years of experience at ASML, most recently served as Executive Vice President for the product area Applications. He will report directly to President and CEO Christophe Fouquet. Fouquet commented on the appointment, stating, “As part of our robust succession planning process, I am proud to name Marco, a long-standing ASML leader, as CTO. After working alongside him for many years, Marco has my full support in driving forward our technology roadmap in service of our customers. I look forward to our continued collaboration.”
In addition to assuming the CTO role, Pieters is expected to join ASML’s Board of Management at the next Annual General Meeting on April 22, 2026, at which point the Board will expand from five to six members. Pieters’ appointment highlights ASML’s focus on continuity in technology leadership as it advances its semiconductor strategies.
