Confluent, a data streaming platform that enables organizations to build real-time applications, has announced the appointment of Stephen Deasy as its Chief Technology Officer. Deasy will lead the engineering team’s vision, strategy, and execution, focusing on strengthening Confluent’s platform to support advanced use cases such as agentic AI, personalized customer experiences, and automated operations. 

With more than 20 years of experience in high-growth software companies, Deasy most recently served as CTO of Benchling, where he built global product and platform teams. He previously held senior roles at Atlassian, overseeing engineering for Jira, Confluence, Trello, and its cloud platform, and also worked with VMware, EMC, and Groupon.
