ClearBank has appointed Neil Drennan as Chief Technology Officer, tasking him with advancing the company’s cloud-based API and payments infrastructure as it expands across the UK and Europe. Drennan joins from Visa, where he served as Chief Technology Officer for Visa Cross Border Solutions and Currencycloud. He brings more than 15 years of experience spanning financial services and media, with prior roles at 10x Future Technologies and Amazon.
During his tenure at Visa, he established the Cloud Centre of Excellence program to integrate cloud-native practices across the organization. At ClearBank, he will lead the technology function and join the Group executive team as the company builds on recent initiatives, including channel partnerships and embedded banking services for corporate clients.
Mark Fairless, Group CEO of ClearBank, said, “Neil will bring invaluable experience in streamlining and scaling our leading cloud-based platform, to support our ongoing growth.” He added that technology remains central as the firm enters new markets and develops additional offerings. Drennan commented, “I have admired the way in which ClearBank has shaken up the payments and banking sector over the last decade.”
