HP has appointed Board Member Bruce Broussard as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, following the departure of Enrique Lores, who stepped down after seven years as CEO and 36 years with the company. The board has formed a CEO Search Committee and hired an executive search firm to find a permanent successor.

Broussard joined HP’s board in 2021 and brings more than three decades of leadership experience in public companies, including over ten years as President and CEO of Humana and senior roles at U.S. Oncology. HP said it will guide its strategic priorities and provide stability during the transition. Board Chairman Chip Bergh said, “We are confident that Bruce will successfully drive the company’s initiatives forward, working closely with HP’s strong leadership team.”

Broussard said, “I look forward to being an effective steward of the company’s strategic progress and providing stability and continuity as we run a CEO search process.” Bergh also thanked Lores for his service, saying, “Enrique has guided HP through its recent transformation and helped position the company for the future.” Lores said it had been a privilege to guide HP’s shift toward an AI-focused business, adding that teams strengthened print and PC operations, expanded HP Solutions, and continued to invest in employees. He said HP now has strong teams and a clear long-term strategy for the future.
