Indeed has appointed Jim Giles as Chief Technology Officer, placing him in charge of the company’s technical strategy and the direction of its global engineering organization as hiring platforms push deeper into AI-driven matching and workflow automation. CEO Hisayuki “Deko” Idekoba said Giles brings experience scaling products used worldwide and will help guide how Indeed applies AI across the platform to improve speed and reliability for both job seekers and employers.
Giles joins Indeed from Google, where he served as Vice President of Engineering overseeing Workspace products including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive, which the company said are used by more than a billion people. During his tenure, he helped lead an AI-first product strategy and founded the Workspace AI platform to support AI development and cross-product experiences. “I’ve long focused on how technology can improve the way work gets done,” Giles said, adding that hiring “holds tremendous potential for transformative innovation” and that he plans to build technology that simplifies hiring and connects people with meaningful opportunities.
