Paras Malhotra is joining Starburst as Chief Information Security Officer, taking on security, governance, risk and compliance, and product security as the company builds more AI capabilities into its enterprise data platform. His role spans Starburst’s SaaS and on-premises offerings, with a focus on protecting customer data as organizations connect more AI tools to corporate systems.
Malhotra brings more than 20 years of experience building security, compliance, and privacy programs for cloud-native and SaaS companies. He most recently served as Senior Director of Information Security at Datadog, where he led customer trust initiatives, proactive risk management, continuous security monitoring, and AI governance.
Before Datadog, Malhotra spent nearly a decade at Amazon Web Services in senior security leadership roles, including Principal Manager for AWS Security Assurance. At AWS, he helped lead engineering strategy and automation tooling for identifying infrastructure risks and strengthening compliance operations.
At Starburst, Malhotra will work across engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to align security strategy with the company’s enterprise data platform. His focus will include data protection, enterprise resilience, and AI security as customers manage larger and more complex data environments.
