OpenText Corporation, an enterprise information management and security software provider, announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Ayman Antoun as Chief Executive Officer and a Member of the Board, effective April 20, 2026. The appointment follows a comprehensive CEO search led by the Board. Antoun succeeds James McGourlay, who has served as Interim CEO and will transition into a role within the Executive Leadership Team.
Executive Chairman and CSO P. Thomas Jenkins will resume his position as Chair of the Board following the transition. Commenting on the appointment, Jenkins stated, “The Board believes that he is the best leader to drive shareholder value by growing revenue.” He added, “Ayman’s deep enterprise technology and software expertise and decades of leading large-scale global transformations will be a catalyst for OpenText’s next phase of growth.”
Antoun brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector, including senior leadership roles at IBM, where he most recently served as President of IBM Americas, overseeing operations across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. He previously held roles as President of IBM Canada and General Manager of Global Technology Services, and earlier served as Senior Vice President at Bell Canada.
David Fraser, Lead Independent Director at OpenText and Co-Chair of the CEO Search Committee, said that the Board was impressed by Antoun’s experience leading large technology organizations, especially in cloud and digital modernization. Antoun stated, “I am energized by the opportunity to lead OpenText into its next chapter and look forward to working with the Board and leadership team to accelerate the Company’s growth strategy.”
