Etsy has announced a leadership transition that will see Kruti Patel Goyal, the company’s President and Chief Growth Officer, succeed Josh Silverman as Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2026. Goyal will also join Etsy’s Board of Directors, while Silverman will move into the role of Executive Chair through the end of 2026. Chair of the Board Fred Wilson will step down from his position but continue serving as a director. The transition follows a period of strong growth under Silverman’s eight-year tenure, during which Etsy tripled its shopper base and significantly expanded both gross merchandise sales and revenue.

Goyal brings more than a decade of experience at Etsy, along with a proven track record as CEO of Depop, where she nearly doubled gross merchandise sales and the platform’s buyer base. In her statement, Goyal emphasized her commitment to maintaining Etsy’s focus on creativity, human connection, and a personalized shopping experience while adapting to evolving customer expectations. Wilson added, “We have full confidence in Kruti's ability to lead Etsy into its next chapter, serve our sellers and buyers, and deliver value to our stakeholders.”
