Doug Fisher’s approach to cybersecurity and AI governance combines strategic foresight with a deep commitment to fostering a culture of security within Lenovo. As Lenovo’s Senior Vice President and Chief Security and AI Officer, Fisher has embedded security into the core of product development, likening it to considerations of quality and financial planning. Fisher’s philosophy prioritizes security at every stage, encouraging Lenovo employees—from developers to executives—to view cybersecurity as integral to each project. This comprehensive approach reflects his belief that robust security cannot solely rely on technical protocols but also on the collective responsibility and awareness of the entire workforce.

Fisher joined Lenovo in 2020, bringing with him decades of experience, most notably from his 24-year tenure at Intel, where he led platform software development worldwide. At Lenovo, he initially served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Data Center Group (DCG), overseeing business segments and driving alignment across product management and operations. His role has since evolved to encompass global security oversight, supply chain integrity, and AI policy, responsibilities that intensified in 2024 with his expanded role in AI governance. Fisher now works closely with Lenovo’s Responsible AI Committee to ensure AI solutions meet standards of inclusivity, environmental responsibility, and ethical impact—key components of Lenovo’s “Smarter AI for All” vision.
