Verizon Communications has named Dan Schulman as its next Chief Executive Officer. Schulman, who has served on Verizon’s Board since 2018 and became Lead Independent Director in late 2024, brings decades of leadership experience across telecommunications, technology, and finance. As the former CEO of PayPal, he guided the company’s expansion into a global payments platform and previously held senior positions at AT&T, Priceline, Virgin Mobile, and American Express.

Mark Bertolini, Verizon Board Chair, said, “Dan is a seasoned and decisive leader with a unique set of experiences, and a proven record of transformative leadership and operational excellence. He is the right leader to chart Verizon's next phase of increased customer focus and financial growth.” Commenting on his appointment, Schulman stated, “I believe in Verizon and its future, and I am honored to be chosen to serve as CEO.” Schulman will lead Verizon’s strategic direction, focusing on enhancing customer experience, optimizing capital allocation, and driving growth across mobility and broadband services.
