Born and raised in the United States, Peters earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy from Yale University. Before joining Netflix in 2008, he held senior roles at companies like Macrovision Solutions (later Rovi Corporation), Mediabolic, Red Hat Network, and Wine.com, where he built a solid foundation in consumer electronics and digital entertainment. At Netflix, Peters initially focused on international development and forged key partnerships in consumer electronics that expanded Netflix’s footprint worldwide. As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer, he led the product vision and operational growth that helped Netflix transition into a multi-faceted entertainment powerhouse. Now as Co-CEO, he co-leads with Ted Sarandos, steering strategy in a fiercely competitive market.
