Success is built on decisiveness, perspective, and the courage to hire the best—principles that define Sam Allen’s leadership at Salesforce. As Executive Vice President and Chief Pipeline Officer, Allen believes that strong teams are made by leaders unafraid to bring in talent that could challenge them. His approach prioritizes clear priorities, direct communication, and a relentless focus on execution. Whether navigating high-stakes corporate decisions or steering teams through global challenges, Allen’s ability to process information quickly and act with precision has set him apart in the competitive tech industry.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Allen comes from a blue-collar background that instilled an unshakable work ethic. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia before pursuing an MBA in finance and economics at the Wharton School. Before entering the corporate world, he served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, an experience that sharpened his leadership instincts. His post-military career led him through high-profile roles at Cisco, where he managed a $10 billion acquisition portfolio, and later to entrepreneurship, where he built global supply chains across the U.S., Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. At Salesforce, Allen has taken on critical leadership positions, including overseeing mergers and acquisitions, leading salesforce.org, and now driving the company’s pipeline strategy at Tableau.
